The Winged Flame

Formerly defender of the Cyran village of Saerun, Hara “The Winged Flame” Drosten found himself lacking when his home needed him the most.

A powerful wizard, Drosten had lived both outside and above those he had sworn to protect, in a heavily-guarded tower outside of town. One night, while deep in study over an ancient, powerful ritual, Drosten’s tower was disenchanted and attacked by a powerful army of goblins. Caught off-guard by the attack, Drosten was captured and held by the goblins. His memory temporarily lost, he managed to kill his captors. After remembering who he was, he finally fought back, wiping out the goblin invaders with the same apocalyptic spell that he had been studying the night of his capture.

Saerun was saved, but not without the deaths of countless villagers, and the capture and enslavement of hundreds more. Upon seeing his home reduced to rubble, Drosten swore to never allow it to happen again. He spent the next decades hunting down not only the remnants of Saerun’s attackers, but those who ordered the attack, as well as those further up the chain of command.

However, as the years passed, Hara Drosten realized that the attack on Saerun may not have simply been a part of the goblin revolution, not simply a part of the founding of Darguun from the ashes of Cyre. Many doors are closed to him, many questions still unanswered, but he is discovering that the entire continent of Khorvaire, and perhaps Eberron itself, may be in danger.
